Will there be late business?

A few weeks ago it looked as if Saints' summer signing spree was over. However, the injury to Darren McGregor meant a new defender as needed, so in came Ilias Haddad. he was then joined by Burnley youngster Joe McKee.

That appeared to be that and even today Lennon said: "There will be no further signings ahead of the window closure. Joe McKee is the last addition we will be making and we are very happy with that. We feel we have achieved a good blend of experience and promise in the nine signings we have made. I think we have a very good squad here now, with versatility and ability and, hopefully, the depth we need."

Looks pretty clear cut to me. However, there is a suggestion that Paul McQuade is on his way out, with Rangers' Kyle Hutton coming in on loan - something the player's dad hinted at on Real Radio this evening.

It would be no surprise if McQuade leaves. He has had a terrible time with injuries since he arrived from Cowdenbeath last year and has failed to impress in the few occasions he has made it onto the park in an SPL game. Had he been on a one year contract he'd have been binned in the summer and it now looks as if he'll be released.

Hutton would be an interesting one. The Rangers youngster started off as a striker but seems to be more of a midfielder these days and played for the Ibrox side in the Champions League last year. Perhaps Ally McCoist is keen to see him get some regular first team football - but can they afford to send youngsters out on loan when they don't have a massive squad.

To be honest, there will almost certainly be no Saints business done tomorrow and we'll go with the squad we've got - but I thought I'd post the rumours anyway!
