What's been going on here then?

The main news was the heavy 3-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle last week. Rudi Skacel bagged a hat-trick, scoring inside the first couple of minutes, just before the half hour mark and then in second half stoppage time. It seems it was a pretty dismal performance and the only positive is manager Danny Lennon finally got round to dropping Lee Mair.

It is now vital we beat Aberdeen on Saturday. We have a tough November coming up and failure to win this weekend would see us go over two months without a victory. Please note there will be no preview of this game, but there will be a report.

The game at Tynecastle saw a debut for new Saints signing Aaron Mooy. The Aussie midfielder has been training with the squad for over a month and was offered a contract, with Saints finally agreeing terms with Mooy's former employers Bolton at the end of last week. The midfielder is signed until the end of the season with an option for next year and could prove to be a decent acquisition.

Starting in Gorgie was youngster Kenny McLean - the first time he has been in the starting 11 of the first team. And a few days later he put pen to paper on a new three year deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2014. There was also good news for fellow starlets Thomas Reilly and Craig Slater, who are part of the Scotland under-17 squad to face USA next month.
