Walker Signs For Alloa

Last updated : 19 September 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
This will come as a blow to many people at Love Street, not least chairman Stewart Gilmour. Having already seen his top goalscorer of last season, Martin Cameron, leave for third division Gretna for more money, he has now seen a player reject as much as the club can afford in favour of second division football. Walker is a lifelong Saints fan, from Paisley, who only left to gain SPL football with Dunfermline, but they wanted rid of him after a year so he was released. Walker did leave Love Street under a cloud, as he'd had to pay his own transfer fee, so perhaps this is why he chose Alloa over Saints.

Walker will link up with former Saints players Jamie McGowan and Iain Nicolson at Alloa.
