Walker Finally Gone

The transfer saga ended on Friday when The Official Site reported he had left.

The whole affair has been a bit of a mess. First of all Dunfermline made an approach for Walker, after his agent told them he would cost nothing. Then Saints told them they wanted a fee for Walker, seems fair to me. However Dunfermline thought Saints were looking for money when previously they hadn't been, so decided not to proceed. Walker then announced he would pay the transfer fee in installments from his increased wages Dunfermline would give him. Saints again said this wasn't on, incase something happened which resulted in Walker having no cash and unable to pay. Eventually Dunfermline came to their senses/Walker gave Dunfermline the money to give to Saints and the deal was sealed.

I am delighted Walker has gone. Last season he was rubbish yet, with so many free players around, we manage to get around £25,000 for him! Amazing! Although outstanding in the title year, scoring some good goals, Walker was shown up in the SPL and terrible last year, being possibly the main problem in the defence yet only missing two games!

Anyway, for all his help in the title season, we wish Scott well.
