Mooy was released by Bolton last summer and signed for Saints in October after a lengthy, but impressive, trial spell. The 20-year-old has struggled to get into the team for some reason, but has looked good when he has been given a chance. He has also been capped for Australia at just about every level apart from the highest one.
When he originally signed, there was an option for the club to extend his contract - due to expire next month - for another year. However, despite his rare starting opportunities and fleeting substitute appearances, Mooy has now agreed to stay for another two years.
Hopefully now that he is committed to the club, Aaron will get a few more starts next year and show us what he's really made of.
