Turner To Be Released

Turner is expected to play his last game in St. Mirren colours tomorrow, and it is possible he will be made captain for the occasion. Turner is expected to be just the first of a number of players released from the club, and joins Tom Brown and Alex Burns who have already left during the season.

Turner captained the club to the title a few seasons ago, but in the SPL looked a little dodgy at times and unable to cope. This season he has only played when required due to injury, as well as being the under 21 coach. Before Tom Hendrie arrived he was a midfielder, and his Saints career looked to be over just before he arrived, being loaned out to a lower league club after an altercation with a fan.

To be honest I'm not a fan of Turner's style, where instead of hitting the ball up the park he passes the ball to the goalie to clear, usually with a defender rushing in. It's possible he could go back to Morton, where he played years and years ago.

Meanwhile, yesterday's Paddy Flannery rumour could well be true, after the story was also in yesterday's Daily Record. He is out of contract at the end of the season but will he be much different to when he was rejected 2 seasons ago?
