Transfer Window Round Up

Chris Innes moved from SPL side Dundee United to third division leaders Gretna. Innes was told before Christmas he could leave if he found anew club, and managed to score on his debut. Innes had been on loan at Saints from Kilmarnock in 1999.

Whilst Innes was signing for Gretna, one ex Saint was leaving them. Martin Cameron, who has been out for nearly a year with a serious injury, has signed for Irish side Shamrock Rovers on loan. Cameron scored 19 goals in 2002/03 for Saints, before leaving for Gretna in 2003.

Lee Hardy, who had been with St. Johnstone, signed for fellow first division side Hamilton Accies. Hardy had been out of favour in Perth and, after a failed trial spell with home town team Blackpool, found his way to New Douglas Park. Hardy was on trial with Saints in the summer of 2003, but wasn't signed.

Ian Ross and Jose Quitongo both signed for Alloa, linking up with former Saints boss Tom Hendrie, and former team mate Iain Nicolson. Ross was a vital part of Saints title winning squad in 2000, but was released by Partick Thistle at Christmas. Quitongo, who played for Saints in the SPL and the first division and was useless, was after a new club after being released by Waterford United.

Robert Dunn was the only other former Saint moving (that I know of), rejoining Stirling Albion in a swap deal which saw a Stirling player going to Dumbarton. Dunn played for Saints in 2003/04, scoring twice, before being released and signing for old club Dumbarton.

There have been a few rumoured moves, with Burton O'Brien and David McNamee linked with moves away from Livingston, and Ludovic Roy linked with a departure from Ayr United. It looks like Ludo will be signing for Falkirk next week, no doubt after a heroic performance against us in the cup on Saturday...
