Training ground given approval

The new complex at Allantan playing fields in Ralston will feature an astroturf pitch as well as changing rooms, a gym and all the other stuff you'd expect to find at a training ground.

The plans had been recommended for approval at a meeting of Renfrewshire Council's planning board afew weeks ago, however one councillor - Iain Nicholson - decided he wanted a site visit. This was made recently and whoever went along was obviously satisifed with whatever they were concerned about and approval was given yesterday.

It is hoped work will be able to start on the site early next year, however this could be delayed as the plans need final approval from the Scottish Government.
