Tess to stay as another striker sought

Last updated : 30 March 2012 By Stuart Gillespie

Tesselaar started the season in good form after a successful trial period at the club, setting up both goals in a win over Hibs, but has recently been missing due to injury. The former AZ Alkmaar and Telstar leftback's arrival helped solve a problem area in the team and the fact he's staying means we finally have some consistency in that area, instead of having to spend yet another summer hunting for someone to play there.

No deal has been signed yet but Lennon says it has been agreed and will be tied up when the Dutchman's agent arrives next week. Hopefully it will be for two years rather than one.

Lennon has also indicated he wants to get another striker secured before the end of the season. Former Doncaster and MK Dons frontman Lewis Guy has already agreed to join, while the club still has Steven Thompson, Paul McGowan, Dougie Imrie and Jon McShane under contract. Despite that array of talent we've struggled for goals this season and another frontman is a must. It would be nice to keep Nigel Hasselbaink as well, but there is a suggestion he'll be leaving in the summer.
