The 30-year-old has recently been told he is surplus to requirements at Pittodrie and won't get a new contract in the summer. There is a very good reason for that - he's not very good. I have never been impressed with him or his brother Darren and the fact we're being linked with either of them has me more than a little worried.
Young started his career at Aberdeen before moving to Dunfermline. He had spells with St Johnstone and Partick Thistle before somehow ending up back at Pittodrie - and managing another four years!
I seem to remember we were interested in Young during Gus MacPherson's time at the club and the only good thing about that potential move was the possibility of Mo Camara going the other way. Let's hope this rumour remains just that.
