Saints To Trial Portuguese Youngster?

Last updated : 13 June 2004 By Stuart Gillespie
Raminhos is featured in a Sunday Mail article about foreigners living in Scotland and supporting their country in Euro 2004. The left wing back gave up football for love a year ago when he met Edith Forrest, having previously played for a team called Barreirnense.

Rubin said: "I'm keeping fit in the gym but would love to find a club for the new season and get back playing. I had a trial with Partick Thistle and it didn't work out so now am hoping to play a trial for St Mirren. Edith also knows Fraser Wishart at the Scottish players' union so he is going to try and help me get a team."

Whether there is any truth in this or not I don't know. He's not the first Portuguese player we've been linked with this summer, as there were rumours that we were after Jorge Cadete.
