Saints to face Gretna

Last updated : 05 August 2013 By Stuart Gillespie

We have no game this week due to Celtic preferring to play Liverpool in a friendly, so we have fixed up one ourselves. There's no word on how strong a team we'll have out but it would be a surprise if there weren't a few first team faces on show.

Saints boss Danny Lennon used to play for the old Gretna, as did new signing Danny Grainger. Gretna 2008 were formed by fans of the old club and will play in the new Lowland League this season, having played in the East of Scotland League for the last five years.

I won't be doing a preview of this game but if we're going with a strong side then I will run a report. Can't ask for much more than a Saints friendly in Dumfries and one in Gretna in the space of a fortnight!

Kick-off at Raydale on Wednesday night is at 7.30pm. Hopefully we fair better than the under-20s did when they took part in the Raydale Cup last month.
