Saints Sign Sutton & Adam

Sutton has been linked with a move north of the border all summer. The brother of Celtic striker Chris, Sutton was released by Spurs two years ago and signed for Raith Rovers. He scored thirteen goals in twenty games before Millwall signed him in January 2004. He couldn't break through there and was loaned to Dundee last season, scoring eight goals in the SPL. Having played in a few friendlies for Millwall over the summer he decided to cut his losses and return north to sign for Saints today on a two year deal.

The Charlie Adam deal is a bit of a surprise and has been kept incredibly quiet by the club. I don't think I've seen one rumour linking him with the switch. Adam spent some time on loan at Ross County last season and scored twice against Saints at Love Street, including a memorable effort from the halfway line. it seems that Rangers boss Alex McLeish wants to see him get a bit more first team experience and midfielder has signed on loan until the end of the year.

Both players go straight into the squad for tonight's league challenge cup match against Queen of the South and will hopefully solve our porlbme sin both creating and taking chances.

Meanwhile, young keeper Chris Smith is expected to sign a new two year deal over the next few days.
