Saints sign a winger

Last updated : 24 September 2010 By Stuart Gillespie

McCluskey has been training with the squad this week and, it seems, did enough to impress manager Danny Lennon. He is predominantly a right winger - which is exactly what we need and something we have been lacking for many years. If he has pace and the ability to deliver the odd decent cross then he could be a good signing.

McCluskey used to be the youngest player ever to appear in the SPL but fell out of favour at Hibs after a bust-up with manager John Collins. In 2007 he joined St. Johnstone, but twice broke his foot so hardly played. After that he ended up at Wrexham, but was let go by them this summer. He was in with a chance of going to Belgium and also had a trial at Morton, but he's now come to Saints.

I don't know a great deal about Jamie, but let's hope he can provide the creativity we have been missing on the right of midfield.
