Saints move in for McLean

Last updated : 26 June 2009 By Stuart Gillespie
Saints boss Gus MacPherson has tried to sign the centre half in the past, but his attempts have all failed. However, this time he might have a bit more luck. We are believed to have offered him a two year deal to move, while managerless Motherwell are only prepared to offer him a 12 month contract.

The reason for that is probably due to his injury record. After a good first season with the Steelmen he hasn't featured much in the past few years and suffered a serious knee injury in a friendly last summer. It's therefore understandable they are only prepared to offer him a one year deal.

McLean is taller than most of our other defenders and would be a good signing - if he could keep himself fit.

Meanwhile, the club is still waiting on answers from out of contract pair Craig Dargo and Gary Mason as well as former loan player Franco Miranda. There's still no word on what's happenig with Mo Camara and the one year option in his contract.
