Saints make a million

I'll be honest and say finances aren't really my strong point, so I've copied this key figures bit from the Black & White Army website and will allow people to draw their own conclusions:

Profit on ordinary activities before taxation: £906,797
Operating loss: £355,098
Current assets: £1,274,685
Creditors within 1 year: £1,029,112
Net current assets: £245,208
Cash in the bank: £853,685
Bank overdraft: £308,564
Turnover: £3,546,462 (up from £2,956,339)
Wages: £2,463,911 (up from £1,958,411)
Commercial income: £631,943 (up from £477,581)
Capital commitments (not provided for in accounts): £467,885

According to Black & White Army, this means we have a debt of around £220,000. Not great, but not the end of the world. There have been major cuts to the wage bill due to the collapse of Setanta, while the cup run and stadium move account for some of the profit.

Interestingly, we spent far more on wages in 2008/09 than we did in 2006/07 - and achieved the same finishing position both times...
