Saints Fail In Corr Move

Last updated : 17 December 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
Saints are desperate to get another keeper in with Craig Hinchcliffe out for the season, meaning rookie Danny McColgan has had to bench warm in recent weeks, although even he was injured a while back. If Chris Smith were to get injured, McColgan would have to be thrown in and it seems that MacPherson is not keen on doing this.

Earlier in the week, Saints tried to get Michael McGovern on loan from Celtic as cover, however the bid was rejected. There had been rumours for a few weeks that Saints were trying to get former Celtic and Motherwell keeper Corr from Stranraer in January, but they are not willing to let him go.

Stranraer assistant manager Stuart Miller said: "There was a tentative enquiry from St Mirren, but BJ Corr is far too valuable to us to even consider leaving and that's as far as it got. BJ Corr is contracted to us until the summer and we will worry about that a bit nearer the time."

The search continues, although in slightly related news there are also rumours that we're after Stranraer midfielder Allan Jenkins. Where all this money is coming from is anyone's guess.
