Jack Ross looks set to be offered a new contract by Saints to keep him at the club for at least another year - but the Buddies face competition for his services with both Hamilton and Motherwell rumoured to be interested in signing him.
Ross had a fantastic first season with the club after joining from Falkirk in 2008 but hasn't been anywhere near as good this term and is currently injured. However, his experience is good to have and he is probably worth keeping around for another year.
It's no surprise to see Hamilton interested in the part-time pundit as Ross must be one of the few former Clyde players not to make his way to New Douglas Park in the last few years. It's a wee bit more surprising that Motherwell want to sign him, although it should be pointed out Ross knows 'Well defender Stephen Craigan due to his work with the BBC.
It's worth noting that none of our out of contract players, with the exception of Andy Dorman, have yet been offered new contracts and it's a move that could cost us dearly - especially as Hearts are being linked with a move for Billy Mehmet.
