The Doonhamers are now under new management, Jim McIntyre being appointed a few days ago after Allan Johnston left for Kilmarnock. They are on a bit of a high at the moment, having won the second division and the Ramsdens Cup last season, so will be tough opponents.
It's a bit of a surprise move to arrange this game as an artificial pitch is currently being installed on Palmerston. On a personal level I'm delighted as I live in Dumfries and can walk to this game!
