Saintees Or County For Winners

If we were to see off United - a fairly tough task in itself - I don't know which of the two I'd prefer. St. Johnstone are a decent first division side, while Ross County are flying high in the second division. Both sides have caused us problems in the recent past, both home and away.

Saints record against lower league sides in cups in recent years is a bit mixed. We lost to East Fife in the League Cup this season, while needed a replay to see off Spartans before going out to Gretna in the Scottish Cup in 2006. However, we did see off Dumbarton this year and also beat Stenhousemuir in the League Cup last season.

Don't forget, before we can start getting excited about the quarter final and a possible trip to Hampden, we still have a trip to Dundee United to negotiate - hardly a walk over!

The full draw is as follows:

Queen of the South v Motherwell/Dundee
Ross County/St Johnstone v St Mirren/Dundee Utd
Hibernian/Rangers v Livingston/Partick Thistle
Aberdeen v Celtic

Games will be played on March 8 and 9.
