Rumour: Hendrie Sacked

Last updated : 02 September 2002 By Stuart Gillespie
The story goes like this. After Saturday's dreadful performance against Caley Thistle, there was supposedly, and I stress supposedly, an unscheduled board meeting after the game. Now, as far as I am aware there is no other reason an unscheduled board meeting was supposedly held other than to decide on the future of Tom Hendrie. The time of this unscheduled board meeting has varied from Saturday night to today. The statement issued on Scotsport didn't help matters much, other than to let us know Tom Hendrie was still the manager of St. Mirren.

Today, on www.blackandwhitearmy.com a thread appeared, started by Eminem's Mother, a former St. Mirren reserve who claims to have been told by a source that Tom Hendrie has been sacked. The story was "confirmed" within minutes by someone posting as Charles Manson, although former guestbook users will know exactly who I mean if I say Charles Manson is also long ball specialist Buddy. Buddy is mates with Eminem's Mother so I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who feels it could be a windup. Supposedly there will be a press confernece tomorrow revealing Tom Hendrie has indeed been sacked, and John Coughlin will be taking over for the time being. A similar thread, by the same people, had previously been removed from the forum on The Official Site.

As I said at the top, this is, in my eyes, total rumour however I don't want to feel a total prat if it turns out to be true and I was aware of it. If it turns out to be total fiction then I apologise for leading the few people who use Mirren Mad astray, and for any harm caused by the club.
