Rudden To Train With Ayr

The news comes from the Daily Record. Rudden was released at the end of last season, and in my opinion not before time. He made his debut at the end of 1997-98 yet the fact he had not established himself in the first team after 5 years should show people he wasn't that good, particuarly when the likes of Simon Lappin had. No one is quite sure where Rudden is meant to play: is he a right back, midfielder, centre back or sweeper? This would indicate he is versatile but he's not, he's pretty poor in both positions.

If Rudden did sign for Ayr he'd join up with former Saints goalkeepers John Hillcoat and Campbell Money, the latter of course being the manager. David Lowing and Martin Baker have also been linked with Ayr, so it's no surprise they have taken Rudden on trial, especially as Money signed loads of ex Saints when manager of Stranraer.

Meanwhile, it looks like Martin Cameron hasn't signed for Falkirk just yet, as Falkirk boss John Hughes wants to see him in a few games first.
