Raith v Saints Preview

Last updated : 18 July 2002 By Stuart Gillespie
Raith were relegated last season from division 1 and have done a fair bit to try and win promotion in their first season. Antonio Calderon is their new player manager on a loooooong contract, despie having never been manager of anywhere before. Brian Carrigan and Adam Moffat have been signed, as well as a couple of Calderon's fellow Spaniards. Nacho Novo has disappeared off to Dundee while ancient striker Andy Smith has signed a new deal. Thats all I know on Raith's situation.

Tonight will be another chance for some of Saints trialists to impress, such as Brian Launders and Liam Keogh. There may be a chance for a few foreign players to win deals, such as a pair from Switzerland and a trio from France. I have no idea what any of these folk are like, though the PDE did report one of the three men from France has played for Algeria!

That's all I can be bothered writing for this game, there will be a better preview, and match report, for Monday's friendly against Motherwell.
