The Scotland under-21 side has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Paisley for more than a year. Nothing has ever come of the rumours, but speculation is intensifying with his contract due to expire in the summer.
Previously it was just thought to be English Championship sides, such as Ipswich and Bolton, that were weighing up a move, while a return to Rangers was also a possibility. However, the rumours have been turned up a notch with the news that three sides in England's top tier are now interested.
Whether or not anything comes of this latest speculation remains to be seen. McLean has been terrific for us lately and was outstanding against Motherwell on Saturday, which no doubt impressed visiting scouts. His future almost certainly lies elsewhere, but it's debatable whether or not he'd be able to do a job in the Premier League just yet.
