O'Neill Returns South

Last updated : 23 April 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
O'Neill was signed from QOS in the summer of 2003 as the John Coughlin transfer revolution got under way. Unlike most of Coughlin's transfers, O'Neill was actually half decent, scoring a reasonable number of goals. However after scoring twice against QOS in January 2004 he didn't score again that season, and the pattern repeated itself this year. He scored eight goals before Christmas and hasn't found the net since, but is still our top scorer!

O'Neill's return to Palmerston has been rumoured for a few weeks now so it seemed likely he would go there. There was also interest from Airdrie and newly promoted Brechin, as well as two second division sides.
