McManus is also rumoured to be attracting interest from Kilmarnock, but this morning's Scottish Sun claimed he would join up with the Saints squad when they begin pre-season training tomorrow with a view to signing a deal. However, according to Lennon, this is far from the truth.
He said: "I have not spoken to Tam McManus. He is a player who I have great respect for, but we have Craig Dargo and now Paul McQuade at St Mirren, and I feel Tam is probably too similar in style. At this stage it is not something I am looking at."
The news will come as a great relief to Saints fans as McManus is not well liked by the Greenhill Road faithful, and has hardly covered himself in glory in recent years.
