The 21-year-old made one appearance for the English Premiership side's first team and has also featured for England's under-19s. He has also been loaned out to Finnish side MyPa and has trained with both Crystal Palace and Ipswich since Spurs let him go.
There's some debate as to whether he's just training with us to get fit or is on trial with the club. We're hardly short of midfielders, although Jim Goodwin will miss next week's game against Hibs through suspension. Nicholson has a decent pedigree so may be worth a gamble for that game, although he'll be woefully short of match fitness.
