News Update

Last Saturday Saints were beaten by Partick Thistle, who therefore won the league. A good first half display from Saints, who were unlucky to go in 1 down at half time and had a goal wrongly disallowed, Partick dominated the second half and cruised to the title 2-0. Two things, apart from the shocking referee and sub standard Saints second half performance, annoyed me about this. Alex Burns played his best game at Love Street after being naff for us, and Scott Paterson did well for Partick and has done well all season. Guess what team rejected him pre season!

Talking of rejecting good players, Tom Hendrie has gone on record this week as saying Saints need a striker to enable them to challenge for next season. A prolific striker. Well Tom, it was YOU who rejected Paul Ritchie pre season, a man who has scored 20ish goals this season for Caley Thistle!

With the 10 SPL clubs telling the Old Firm they will be leaving them in 2 years. My main point on this is this: why the heck are St. Johnstone resigning from the league. Has no one pointed out they are relegated??!! Anyway you can follow the progress of a fans movement to get the OF out, signa  petition and more, by visiting http://www.ssu.org.uk/

Returning to pre season to end with, Saints have announced two more friendlies to go with the Norwich one. Games against Cardiff City and Millwall have been arranged, probably to test out the stewarding at Love Street ;-)
