News round-up

Thanks to the wonders of the internet, a match report for Saturday's game against Dundee United did indeed appear even though I was soaking up the sun at the time. Sadly, it was not a joyous report as we were hammered 4-0. Having watched the highlights it looks as if we defended rather poorly and could have lost by more. Saturday's game against Ross County will tell us if the defeat was just a blip or the start of another poor run of form.

Making his debut in that game was Marian Kello. The former Hearts goalie has been signed until the end of the year after Christopher Dillo got injured. There are suggestions David Cornell has a knock too, which would explain why he didn't return to the team. From the highlights it didn't look as if Kello had much chance with any of United's goals so hopefully the Slovakian international will prove to be a good signing once he gets up to speed.

The only other major news (aside from Paul McGowan being the subject of a court case, which we'll leave for legal reasons!) is that the under-20s have been handed a trip to Raith Rovers in the fourth round of the SFA Youth Cup. The game will be played at the end of November. Last week the young Saints lost 1-0 to Inverness Caley Thistle.
