News Round Up

First up, the game against Raith Rovers which was originally arranged for December has been rearranged for Saturday March 6th. The game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, despite the fact a large number of Saints fans were already in Kirkaldy. The game has been rearranged for this date as it's the cup Saturday, and both teams are out. Kick off is at 3 o'clock.

Whilst Simon Lappin has been getting all the publicity over his Scotland under 21 exploits, we shouldn't forget David Martin. David hasn't made it into the Saints first team yet, but is reguarly getting call ups to the Scotland under 17 squad. Could he be on for a first team debut before the season is out?

Saints goalie Craig Hinchcliffe should sign a new deal this week. Saints boss Gus MacPherson said early last week that he hoped to conclude the contract negotiations soon, and hopefully that will come this week. We need him back!

Also, over the last week or so, Saints fitness coach David Murray has left Love Street for pastures new. No idea where he is headed, but all the best to him anyway.

Last Friday saw Love Street featured on the picture board in BBC's "A Question Of Sport". With yesterday being Valentine's Day, the programme had that as a theme, and a relatively recent picture of Love Street appeared for the guests to recognise. Ally McCoist got it, just as well considering he trained with us under Alex Ferguson, probably scored there countless times for Rangers, lives just up the road and was training with us a few weeks ago! He did better than Peter Reid, who couldn't recognise Ian Harte in the Sports Action round, despite having managed him at Leeds!

Finally, Saints fan Christopher Brookmyre looks set to have some of his books turned into TV programmes and films, with top actoer James Nesbitt starring in the main role. Good stuff.
