Mooy returns to Australia

Last updated : 20 June 2012 By Stuart Gillespie

Mooy was told at the end of last season he would be allowed to leave if he found a new club and has now done so, newly formed A-League side Western Sydney his most likely destination.

The midfielder, who has been capped for Australia at numerous levels, had a frustrating time in Paisley after arriving in October 2010 with first team opportunities rather limited. It didn't help he got injured last summer but his spexactular strike in the Christmas Eve win over Rangers ensures he will be remembered by the Saints faithful.

It's a shame things didn't work out as Mooy is highly rated by the Socceroos and showed flashes of talent during his time with us. His departure also leaves another hole in the squad that needs to be filled.
