Monthly award for Carey

Last updated : 29 April 2010 By Stuart Gillespie

Carey has been in great form since he arrived from Celtic, but in April he stepped things up a gear. He scored a terrific free-kick against Hearts, scored again against Falkirk and was instrumental in last week's win over Kilmarnock. The award is fully deserved.

Sadly, it probably means any chance we have of keeping Carey is gone. The Irishman is out of contract at Celtic in a few months and is keen to land a new deal, but if he doesn't he will probably attract interest from other clubs who can offer far higher wages than ourselves. The best bet is if Celtic keep him and loan him back to us for another year.

Craig Dargo is in the running for the Scottish PFA goal of the season award for his great strike against Hearts in October, which also gave us our first league win at St. Mirren Park. To vote for the striker's goal, go to http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11096_6121205,00.html
