Millen is a Record Breaker

Last updated : 14 August 2006 By Stuart Gillespie
The record was previously held by Falkirk manager John Hughes, who played half an hour in a match last season. The overall record is held by former Aberdeen goalkeeper Jim Leighton, who was nearly 41 years and 10 months when he played in 2000. Should Millen play in Saints last game of the season, he'll break that record as well.

The record for the oldest player in the premier division since the leagues were reformed in 1970 is held by John "Budgie" Burridge. He played for both Aberdeen and Falkirk in 1994 and would have been at least 42 and possibly even 43. Millen has a bit to go to match that, but he is now the oldest outfield player to ever play in a premier division match since 1975. It goes without saying that Andy is also the oldest ever Saints player.

Well done Andy, hopefully you'll reach another of the milestones before the end of the season.
