McManus has had a pretty nomadic career after coming through the youth system at Hibs, having also enjoyed spells with Dundee, Dunfermline and Falkirk. His spell at Dunfermline in 2007 was his most successful in recent years as he scored goals - including one against Saints - that almost kept them up.
McManus is not well liked by the Saints support, partly because of the way he celebrated that goal for Dunfermline and partly because he's an annoying wee git - although, unlike Paul Hartley, he doesn't seem to have the talent to back it up. The fact he was released by Ayr United says it all - let's just hope this rumour comes to nothing.
