McKnight Resigns For Saints?

Last updated : 22 June 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
The story comes from Black And White Army. McKnight is currently with Northern Irish side Linfield, where he made 28 appearances last season, starting 18 games. He scored 10 goals, so wasn't exactly prolific, however supposedly created a few.

At Love Street he was mostly injured for all but his first four games in April 2000, when he scored tow late goals, against Falkirk and Ayr United, which went a long way to helping us win the league.

There are rumours that this will be a busy week, and even indiciations that McKnight will not be the only former Saint rejoining, with Barry Lavety, Iain Nicolson and Scott Walker all being linked with a return.

If McKnight does sign I hope it's on a pay per play deal due to his injuries. He does have skill, however we need someone who can score and not create as we have tons of players like that.

Some of you may have noticed this bit at the bottom of today's story about James McKinstrey: "These rumours are probably more believable than the ones linking former Saint Paul McKnight with a return to Love Street!". Well, it seems I I could well be wrong. Oops!
