McKnight Out For Season

It's time to get rid of McKnight. I've given him the benefit of the doubt for a long time as he scored those 2 goals in April 2000 which were viotally important. However, in total, since March 2000, Paul has played in just 21 games, only one of which I can think was a full 90 minutes. I understand he is out of contract in the summer, and I would not renew it. We can not afford a deal for a player who will spend most of the season on the bench. This time it is the calf muscle that is the problem.

Other injury worries for Saints, according to the PDE, are Scott Walker with another calf problem (McKnight must have caught it from him), new signing Liam Keogh with an ankle problem, and Steven McGarry with yet another calf problem (maybe McKnight gave it to these two). Mark Yardley and ian Ross, who missed Saturday, are still doubtful.

Finally, the PDE also has an interview with Jose Quitongo, who was terrible as usual on Saturday. The interview is a great laugh, as Jose says he is not greedy and always passes the ball! Usually its a naff pass or made when a shot is better, this is of course when he can be bothered to pass. He also gave the impression he only thinks the fans moaned at him for that one mistake. if everyone else is like me, thats not the case. The truth is, his play has been annoying for a while. He either doesn't pass when he should, or doesn't shoot when he should. Unfortunately he is always in the team.

Here's hoping for three points tonight and another step to safety.
