Darren McGregor is set to be a Buddie until the summer of 2014 after agreeing a new contract. The defender's current deal was due to run out at the end of the current campaign.
McGregor was sensational last season after Danny Lennon brought him with him from Cowdenbeath, winning a number of player of the year prizes in his first ever season of SPL football. However, this season he suffered a serious knee injury after a few games and has been missing ever since.
He has recently returned to training, although is still some way from a first team return, and the fact he's been handed a long term contract shows the club are confident he will recover properly from what was a pretty nasty injury. If he does there will no doubt be interest from other clubs but today's news ensures that if Darren leaves we won't miss out on a transfer fee.
