McGregor signed a two year deal when he arrived from Cowdenbeath last summer and easily adapted to full-time football. The centre-half won numerous player of the year awards and it seems manager Danny Lennon is keen to tie down his prize asset.
If McGregor's second season at Saints is anything like his first, then he'll be off next year - even if he's under contract. Therefore, offering him an extended deal makes sense and it's now up to him to decide whether or not he wants to sign it.
