Celtic forward Paul McGowan became Saints boss Danny Lennon's 10th signing of the summer this evening when he joined the club on a season long loan deal. The 22-year-old has previously had spells at Morton and Hamilton.
McGowan is a pretty versatile player and is capable of operating up front, in behind the strikers or on the wings. It's a deal that has been in the works for a week or so, although no one really knew if McGowan was coming on loan or permanently. He signed a new deal with Celtic earlier in the summer and was willing to fit for his place, but is following in the foot steps of Scott Cuthbert and Graham Carey by joining Saints on loan to prove his worth.
This should prove to be a good piece of business as McGowan is a handy player to have in your attack. He scored 14 goals for Morton during the 2006/07 season - although that was in division two - and he wasn't too bad at Hamilton the season before last.
Mind you, he did play in a certain Celtic defeat in Paisley last season...
