McGinty Out For Three Weeks

Last updated : 03 September 2003 By Stuart Gillespie
The news comes from the Daily Record. This is a major blow to Saints boss John Coughlin who was hoping everyone except David Jack would be fit to face Brechin a week on Saturday. In my opinion McGinty is no great loss, as he rarely looks like scoring when played as a striker and we have better midfielders.

The only other possible absentee at present, apart from McGinty and Jack, for the Brechin game is Saints captain Kevin McGowne, who has cracked ribs and a deflated lung. Long term injured players such as Eddie Annand and Hugh Murray are expected to make the squad. Shuggy has apparently been giving special botts by doctors to help his running, and the rest of the squad have taken great delight in taking the mickey out of him. No doubt there have been several "Run, Forrest, Run" moments already :-)
