McAusland red card appealed

The defender was sent off in the second half for a foul on Dale Carrick as the Hearts player raced through on goal. The Jambos were awarded a penalty, which Jamie Hamill dispatched to give his side all three points.

Footage of the incident suggests if there was a foul it was outside the box, so should have been a free-kick at worst. Saints must feel there was minimal, if any, contact from McAusland and no foul was committed or else they wouldn't bother appealing.

The hearing won't take place until the start of next week at the earliest, meaning Cheesy will be free to face Celtic on Sunday. Regardless of the outcome, he'll also be available for the game against Dundee United as it's in the Scottish Cup and the dismissal came in a league game.
