Lunchtime Transfer Round-Up

Almost certainly on his way is Simon Lappin, who will sign for Norwich City within the next few hours. It seems the club had to accept the paltry £75,000 offer from the Canaries due to a clause in his contract. As Simon will probably earn in a weekwhat he earnt at Paisley in a month it seems fair enough him moving.

Lappin looks likely to be the only departure today, but there could be some shock arrivals. Radio Clyde claims that Saints boss Gus MacPherson has made moves for midfielders Charlie Miller and Gavin Rae. Miller is available after deciding he wants to leave Norway, whilst Rae is still a contracted Rangers player. Both, particularly Rae, would want a fair bit in wages so quite how much truth is in this rumour is hard to tell.

There has been no news from last night's bounce game, in which a few trialists were expected to play. A Croatian international was supposed to play, but decided to sign for a German side instead as he didn't want to come to Scotland without a contract offer. As MacPherson hadn't seen the player in action he decided not to follow the move up, which is fair enough.

Other rumoured arrivals include Sam Morrow from Hibs and Grant Smith, son of BBC pundit Gordon, from some English club.

Stay tuned, it could be a busy day - or sod all could happen!
