Chairman Stewart Gilmour is quoted in a couple of papers today saying that Lennon will get a contract until the summer of 2014 and everything could be sorted out in the next week or so.
The board have perhaps been forced to act by the recent rumours that Lennon was in for the vacant manager's job at Hibs and, as Mirren Mad suggested the other week, it seems those stories haven't done his hopes of a new deal at Greenhill Road any harm at all...
Personally, I'm still a bit wary about a new deal being given this soon. Yes, Danny is out of contract in the summer, there may be interest elsewhere and he's done well this season. However, we've won only four games and the league is so tight we could quickly be in a relegation battle. If we're still where we are in another few months, that's the time to get him signed up.
