Lennon likes lefty

The player - believed to be a Dutch leftback - is one of two players currently on trial with the club as Lennon looks to boost his squad. And hile the players are only there for training, rather than any friendlies, it seems that the gaffer is impressed with what he's seen so far.

He said: “We have a couple of trialists over here and one of them is a left-sided player who is ticking all the boxes, you might say. We will continue to monitor him and then re-evaluate when we return home tomorrow evening."

On the subject of left-sided players, it seems there is still a chance we could sign Graham Carey. The Celtic winger - who was on loan at Greenhill Road last year - is keen to join Saints but current boss Neil Lennon has apparently told him to respect his contract.

Lennon (the Saints one) said: “As for Graham Carey, there are still things to clarify regarding his position.”
