Lawson In, Lappin Out

Lawson has signed on loan until the end of the season, having spent a similar spell on loan at first division St. Johnstone earlier in the season. He made ten appearances, scored once and was sent off twice! He seems to bea holding midfielder, so could be quite useful with Hugh Murray injured and Andy Millen past it.

Moving out of Paisley was Lappin, who has been signed by English Championship side Norwich City for a fee believed to be in the region of £100,000. Not great, but could be worse. Lappin has signed a two and a half year deal and will be on a hell of a lot more money.

Simon made his Saints debut at the end of season 2001/02 and became a regular over the next few seasons. He scored in the famous win over Morton at Cappielow in the League Cup in September 2002 and also scored in last season's Bell's Cup Final.

Sadly, that seems to be the lot in terms of transfers. Rumours about Gavin Rae and Charlie Miller seem to have come to nothing, whilst an attempt to sign a striker from Sheffield Wednesday failed.

There are still rumours about that Miller could end up with Saints, as he's been released by Norwegian side Brann, but with Kilmarnock also rumoured to be interested it's unlikely he'll sign for us.
