Lappin Makes Scotland Debut

Lappin had previously played in a few under 21 training camp games, and had scored for the under 20s recently, but had never made the under 21 squad proper. He started in the match against Hungary in Livingston, and hit the bar with a free kick during the first half before being replaced by Scott Morrison early on in the second.

Lappin seems to have done well for himself, with The Sun giving him an 8 for his performance. Scotland under 21 boss Ranier Bonhof said: "Shaun Maloney's positioning in midfield and John Kennedy did a good job and Simon Lappin played well so those were the positives I've taken from the match."

Well done Simon!
