Kirk Withdraws From Under 21 Squad

Last updated : 15 August 2005 By Stuart Gillespie
It's not the first time a Saints player has missed a game due to toothache, almost exactly two years ago Kevin Twaddle missed a Saints game with the same problem. However, that was one of several "injuries" he had that limited him to just ninety minutes for Saints, whilst Kirk is very rarely injured. If Broadfoot had toothache at the weekend then it may explain his below par performance against Stranraer.

Still, it's not the worst excuse for someone withdrawing from the Scotland squad. Everton goalkeeper Iain Turner has pulled out because he has to baby-sit!
