Killie Sign Combe

Combe left Saints in 1998, having spent a good few years with us after leaving Cowdenbeath. One of his last games for Saints was a 1-0 win at Stirling, a game Saints won to keep their first division status, and the club alive. After having to cope with Derek Scrimgour for the few weeks prior to this, Alan put in a great performance for which I'll always be greatful.

He left for Dundee United on a bosman, but in December 2000 his United career all but finished when he was sent off after a match. He spent some time on loan to Bradford, before being picked by Ian McCall in February 2003 for McCall's first game. Result? Combe was sent off again, becoming the only keeper to be sent off in consecutive Scottish league appearances! He's picked up a fair number of red cards over the years, as he also got sent off for Saints once or twice, and managed to get sent off for Bradford last season!

Alan links up with his former Bradford boss Jim Jeffries, and will be the undisputed number 1 at Kilmarnock. Until he gets sent off :-)
