Jenkins, who turned out for Dundee United and Everton during his playing days, is a highly thought of coach and has come across well in a few of the interviews I've read.
Jenkins has been quoted in a number of places over the summer talking positively about the season ahead an there was no indication that he wanted out. However, this appeared on Real Radio's Twitter feed tonight: "Real Sport understands St Mirren assistant manager Iain Jenkins has quit the club."
This would be a major blow, coming a fortnight before the season begins. No doubt more will come out about this tomorrow.
