It's Johnston or no one

With Johnston being a free agent he can be signed after the window shuts, meaning he could sign later in the week. Despite rumours of new players arriving it looks as if the former Killie and Hearts man will be our last signing of the summer (and he's still to sign the offer he's had for a few days).

Speaking to the club website tonight, manager Gus MacPherson said:  "I think it is highly unlikely that we will sign anyone else before the close of the 'Transfer Window'. As the squad presently stands we have competition in every area of the pitch and while some people may think we lack in certain areas we are actually happy with the squad.

"At this juncture of the 'Transfer Window' it is very difficult to get the quality of player that you would be looking for. That's not to say that it won't happen but I would say that it is highly unlikely."

It's a bit of a worry if he thinks we have enough cover as we only have three central defenders - one less than last season.
